Jamie Okuma


 I choose Jamie Okuma, born 1977 is a visual artist and fashion designer from California. She is well known for her beadwork. She has mixed - media soft sculpture, and fashion design. She is Luiseno and Shoshone- Bannock. She has won 6 best in show awards, three from the Heard Indian Market, three from the Santa Fe Indian Market in Mexico. And many, many more awards and honors. Jamie lives in CA. with her family, was encouraged by her mother to learn beadwork as a teenager she beaded her own dance regalia.

is her beadwork. She is hitting the runways with her butterfly eagle pattern which is so elegant design. She uses her
